Carrapateira is located in the heart of the "Parque Natural do SW Alentejano e da Costa Vicentina”, Portugal’s biggest natural park, a protected area since 1995. This alternative Algarve, with its dunes, cliffs and wonderful sandy beaches, is one of the least populated parts of the Portuguese coast and is far from the heavily frequented tourist areas. In some cases the cliffs of this wild and natural coastline are as high as 150m.

Even if we are quite ''remote'', there are many interesting places, towns and villages whithin a half hour drive.
